Obey God

Hey guys, today the word obedience has been heavy on my mind and it led to so many things after. But I really just want to share the word the Lord brought me to while I was talking to Him this morning.

“Deuteronomy 6”.

“Obey God and Prosper”

There were 3 verses that really pierced my heart.

“Therefore listen, O Israel, and be careful to do them, that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey” VERSE 3.

Hearing and listening are two different things.

Hearing- the faculty of perceiving sounds

Listening - Take notice of and act on what someone says, to respond.

So the Lord is asking for us to be a people who listen. And to then be CAREFUL [done with or showing thought and attention] to do them. Meaning you are not distracted by anything else, your full attention and devotion is to completing that instruction.

Obedience is the prerequisite to the promises of God. We as a people sit around frustrated when we do not see things happening for us and it’s simple. Did you yield to that last instruction the Lord gave you?

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and with all your soul and with all your strength [entire being]” – VERSE 5

This verse took me out because that is the one commandment that fulfills anything the Lord may be possibly telling you to do. If we love God with ALL OUR HEART mind and soul we cant be consumed by things that aren’t of him. We can’t be distracted. We cannot easily entangle ourselves in sin. Our thoughts will not be negative and full of evil BECAUSE THE FOCUS IS GOD. We can’t say we love God with our lives but first thing our mind goes to in the morning is a man, is a platform, is food. We were created by God for God and so every single part of us has to be submitted to Him.

The last Verse that got to me was VERSE 10 and 11:

10 “Then it shall come about when the Lord your God brings you into the land which He swore (solemnly promised) to [give] your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give you, [a land with] great and splendid cities which you did not build, 11 and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and hewn (excavated) cisterns (wells) which you did not dig out, and vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you eat and are full and satisfied”

And this is just the result of obedience. This is just the grace of God, and it honestly brought me to a place of worship. Because we really worship a God that doesn't ask for much, but is always ready to give us things that we didn’t even really work for. HE loves us that much.

So I just wanted to share a little bit of what I got from this chapter and encourage you all to read it but to also move into this place of obedience. It just keeps ringing in my head. The Lord is looking for people who will LISTEN in this time.

Thats all. Til next time.

For a very long time, my full testimony was something that I was ashamed of. And when I wasn’t ashamed of it, the narrative then became: it’s too much to share, no one would care. But for the last few

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed" - Isaiah 53:5
